An Indoor Yard Sale

An indoor yard sale will be held Saturday, May 10th from 7 am to noon at the Ellen Fitzgerald Senior Center, 327 S. Hayne St., Monroe. There will be a large selecton of household items, books, etc. Several hand-crafted items will be raffled off for $1 per ticket. Need not be present to win, proceed will benefit the senior center.

Computer Classes

Spring computer classes are being scheduled in the Senior Center computer lab.  With class size limited to a maximum of 7 students, seniors receive individual attention during 9 hours of instruction.  The fee for 9 hours is $30.00. Each course is generally  on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for 1 1/2 hours for 3 weeks.  Select from Beginner, Word, Word 2, email/Internet, or Excel, or join a specialty class Buying and Selling on eBay, create a cookbook, or Genealogy basics.

Senior Activities and Classes

The place to be in Union County for adults 55+ for a complete fitness program, art and choral groups, a potter’s wheel to ceramic greenware, line dancing, basket making, sewing, golf, cards, sewing, quilting, travel and  more.

Arthritis Quick Start

Join this research study which offers a 2 session workshop to participants.  You will learn skills to help you manage your arthritis and design your own arthritis self-management program.  UNC-Chapel Hill and Stanford University are studying the effectiveness of Arthritis Quick Start.  We invite you to help with this research study!  Call the Senior Center to find a workshop near you.
