ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION

The Friends of the Union County Libraries serves as a volunteer organization, which benefits all of the public libraries in Union County. The board members and volunteers raise funds for books, materials, equipment, and other needs not covered by public funds. We provide support and funding for educational programs, author visits, Hispanic programs, and various children’s programs.

Aside from the income generated by membership dues which is used for postage and books, we have two major fundraisers each year that enable us to support the various programs. There is a Fall Author’s Dinner and a Spring Ladies Tea with a popular author. Several other authors are sponsored throughout the year at various library branches at no cost.

We welcome anyone to become a member of the Fireds of the Union County LIbraries. Members receive early notification of events, quarterly newsletters, and the opportunity to purchase tickets to events prior to the general community. There are several membership levels based on your contribution.

If a more active roll is desired with the Friends of the Union County Public Libraries, please contact us. We encourage all citizens of Union County to be active members. Please contact Betty Birch at 704-283-8036.
