Come take a ride you won’t forget!
Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, JAARS Day will feature how transportation helps get the Word of God translated for people around the world.
“Transportation?” you say. I’ve ridden in cars, buses, planes…. I know all about that.”
Consider again. Travel for missionaries involves rides that can thrill and chill more than any at amusement parks. Their kind of travel reflects the original meaning of the word—travail, which sometimes involves toil and tribulation! Even if you pride yourself on being a “world traveler,” you will find that the challenges of missionary transportation far surpass anything you have experienced so far.
Come and be amazed at the capability of the Helio Courier aircraft and imagine yourself landing on a short runway near the razor edge of a cliff hours from any city. Watch a helicopter demo as it maneuvers into tight places. Learn some new packing techniques and then experience the feel of riding “on top of” cargo in a plane. Hear about the Kodiak—the missionary plane of the future.
Then hop into a Cessna 172 or Helio Courier (fixed-wing airplanes) or a helicopter for a bird’s eye view of JAARS. You will not want to miss the Mission Adventure Ride, combining a 4-wheel-drive vehicle and a fixed-wing aircraft. (All rides weather permitting and for a reasonable fee. A Voluntary Release of Rights and Waiver of Liability form must be signed by all who fly. For all under 18 years of age, this form must also be signed by a parent or guardian.)
Then come into the hangar to enjoy displays, watch a big screen flight simulator in operation and … kids, practice riveting on a plane.
And there’s more! Information technology and vernacular media presenters, veteran Bible translators, and children’s speakers will round out the program.
