The Union County Habitat for Humanity ReStore had our grand opening on March 31st! Since that first day business has been wonderful and community support continues to grow.

Habitat ReStores were started to help Habitat affiliates like ours with fund raising efforts towards the building program. The ReStore sells gently used and new furniture, appliances, household items, and construction materials. The monies from the sale of these items goes into the construction program.

The ReStore also does pickups of larger items such as furniture and appliances. All you have to do is phone the store at 704-289-6067 to schedule an appointment. We also have the support of local businesses and Lowe’s Home Improvement. They donate new, discontinued items. There’s something different in the store every day!

If you want to check us out, we’re located at 2520 W. Roosevelt Boulevard (Hwy. 74) next to Griffin Motors and Super Walmart.

We’re very excited about our new location and want to thank everyone who helped us with this project.

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the Union County Habitat for Humanity blog!

We are getting ready for our BIG move. We have outgrown our current facility on East Franklin Street. We will be moving lock, stock, and barrell to a new facility on West Roosevelt Boulevard. We welcome anyone who would like to come out as a volunteer. (phone me at 704-254-8579)

Our ReStore facility sells gently used, and new, furniture, appliances, household items, and construction materials. Are you remodeling and need a sink or toilet? Check us out! Have a college student that needs furniture? Check us out!

If you or your company are interested in volunteering on a Saturday to build a house give Mike Reece a call at 704-296-9414. It’s a wonderful team building experience.

We work with the Union County school system. Many of our volunteers are young people who come from high schools all over the county. These kids learn valuable life lessons, learn how to be part of a team, and gain self-esteem by learning how to help others. Contact us if you have an interest.

Thank you for reading this blog. Keep checking back. I’ll be updating it every week!

Jackie
