“Heartsaver CPR/AED Certification Class”

Place: CMC-Union Outpatient Treatment Pavilion Auditorium
Cost: $15. per person

This 4-hour class includes adult/child CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and infant CPR instruction. This is the right choice for daycare providers, teachers, coaches, and any non-healthcare professional seeking a certification card. Certification cards will be mailed to participants upon completion of the course. Registration deadline is September 10th. Space is limited Call 704-993-2265 to register.

“Women’s Wellness Workshop: Get Smarter, Get Stronger”

“Free Skin Cancer Screening”

Your skin is the largest organ in your body. Cancer of the skin is the most common of all Cancers. An unusual sore, lump, blemish, marking, or change in the way an area of the skin looks or feels may be a sign of skin cancer. In light of May being National Melanoma/Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month, CMC-Union is offering free skin cancer screenings for interested parties. Dermatologists James Seward, MD and Gary Waldman, MD will conduct the screenings. Space is limited. To schedule an appointment, call 704-225-2577

Women’s Leadership Conference

The 4th. annual Women’s Leadership Conference will be held at the Agriculture Center on Hwy. 74 E on Friday, April 18 from 8:30am to 1:30pm. and all women are invited. The topic for this year’s conference is “Everyday Ethics: the Black, the White, the Gray. ” There will be a panel of professional women from different professions to discuss the topic and there will be lots of time for discussion among the attendees. Free Workshop: Digestive Distress and Life Stress

On Thursday, March 27, from 6:30 - 8:15p.m. , Dr. Stephen Stephenson of Carolina Digestive Health in Monroe, will be speaking on digestive distress. During this free workshop, participants will learn more on constipation, heartburn, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and colon cancer. Dr. Stephenson will be answering your questions at the end of the program. Kathie Parker from the Monroe Hypnosis Center will also be on-hand to talk about relaxation techniques that may help prevent digestive disorders. Light refreshments will be served and door prizes given. All are welcome and bring a friend.
